An LDAR approach uses concentration as an indication of the size of fugitive emission.
By correlating this value to a mass flow rate, the amount of product lostcan be estimated.
Each emission reading is carefully stored in the specially designed LDAR Envolve 'cloud' database.
Within the database we are able to calculate the level of lost product. Two leak values are
given: one according to the Society of Organic Chemical Manufacturing Industry (SOCMI) and one according to Petroleum Industry Correlation. Both calculations are empirically based but yield different plant leak rates.
A simple calculation for tonnes of lost product can be determined utilising the latest market price for the product and provide a value for the actual loss.
